Terms of Service
Not medical advice. Condition Connect is for education, community, and personal organization related to inherited retinal diseases. It is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
Agreement
By creating an account or using Condition Connect (“the Service”), you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and our Community Guidelines. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Who may use the Service
- You must be at least 13 years old to create or maintain an account.
- You must be able to form a binding contract under applicable law (or use the Service with a parent or guardian where required).
- Users ages 13–17 are subject to additional product safety rules (for example teen messaging and discovery limits).
- You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
Invitation-only access
The Service is offered as an invitation-only limited release. Downloading the app (including from an Unlisted App Store link) or visiting the website does not grant access by itself. You need a Condition Connect invitation that is activated for your signed-in identity before you may use product features such as Communities, Track, News, and Chat. We may refuse, revoke, or expire invitations at our discretion.
Referrals or “share” links are not invitations. Suggesting someone for review does not authorize their access until we issue and they activate an invitation.
The Service
Condition Connect provides tools such as sign-in, communities and messaging, learning content, news, digests, educational AI assistance, and optional personal document or condition-tracking features. Features may change as we improve the product. We may offer free or paid tiers later; current access is as described in the product and any invitation materials.
The Service is available in English for this release unless we later enable other languages.
Educational AI
Features such as Mira (educational questions) and optional document understanding use artificial intelligence to provide plain-language information and organization help. AI outputs can be wrong or incomplete. They are not medical advice, diagnosis, or care. Confirm important questions with qualified clinicians. Do not rely on AI outputs as the sole basis for health decisions.
Your content
- You retain rights to content you upload (messages, notes, documents, profile details).
- You grant us a limited license to host, process, display, moderate, and back up that content as needed to run the Service.
- Do not upload content you do not have the right to share, or content that is illegal, harmful, or infringes others’ rights.
- Health-related documents are sensitive; share them only with people you intend to invite under product access controls.
- You are responsible for content you post in communities and chat.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Abuse, harass, exploit, or harm other users.
- Attempt to break security, scrape the Service without permission, or reverse engineer systems except as allowed by law.
- Use the Service to provide clinical care or to present Condition Connect as a medical device or diagnostic tool.
- Misrepresent your identity or affiliation in a way that misleads others about medical credentials.
- Circumvent invitation, age, teen-safety, or access controls.
- Violate our Community Guidelines.
Third-party services
Sign-in may use third parties such as Apple or Google. Cloud hosting, databases, email, push delivery, and AI processing are provided by our vendors (see Privacy Policy). Their terms and privacy policies also apply to those components.
Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” WE DISCLAIM WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation, or the accuracy of AI-generated content.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Condition Connect Inc. and its officers, employees, and agents are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) amounts you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim or (b) USD $50, if you paid nothing.
Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time and may request account deletion as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or end access if you violate these Terms, our Community Guidelines, or if we discontinue the Service or revoke an invitation. Sections that by nature should survive (disclaimers, liability limits, ownership) continue after termination.
Changes
We may update these Terms. We will change the “Last updated” date on this page. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
